#173 Attach labels to a patch when recording

I was thinking the other day, a pretty neat feature of pijul could be to be able to attach labels to a patch, for instance pijul record --label bugfix.

Then, we could imagine something like pijul changes --label bugfix for instance.

What do you think?

Wouldn't putting patches into a bugfix branch achieve the same thing? If you're just interested in the set of patches, you could ignore any conflicts.

How do you distinguish between bugfixes and bugfixes dependencies with a branch?

Well, then a pijul changes --no-deps would be an easy addition, wouldn't it? What I wanted to say was, that I don't see the difference between labels and branches.

This would be nice indeed. Please note though, that patches are not editable once they've been applied: their identifier is the hash of their contents.

Maybe we could start an RFCs repository in the pijul_org group to discuss this kind of things. I'll look into it.

That would be a good idea indeed!

Closing, as it needs further discussion and this is not the correct place to do it.
