For now if a link is symmetric there can only be one of it so there's no point in unrolling it. The next step will just point straight back to the starting point. What is well-defined is the neighborhood.

But we will need to handle symmetry concerns when we get into link types that a post can have multiple of. Then we'll need to detect cycles and so on.
