hide pane's cursor when opening command palette

In the process I realized I need to remove a conflict between editor hotkeys and the command palette, otherwise the UI gets too modal. You can end up with a pane being edited somewhere on a large surface off the screen, and now you can't open the command palette anymore.

So: hit ctrl+enter to open the command palette. (I might switch it to ctrl+space, but I'm not yet confident that some OS somewhere isn't using that.)
