This might make it feasible to test out Pijul while mirroring to git (required by a bunch of things I have to use). It worked well on my trivial test repo. Thanks!

Have you considered adding nix flakes and/or making it available in the nix package manager?

I’ve added nix flake support, if you’re interested. No problem if not. But I wanted to build the app and don’t normally use rust, so added it for myself. I know nothing about rust and I’m a nix and flake beginner, so feel free to remove or change, etc.
