#39 Private Repositories

Opened by hendursaga on April 24, 2021

Hello all!

I asked on IRC and it does not appear the Nest supports private repositories, such as with GitHub/GitLab/etc. I see in the Admin page you can delegate permissions such as “Read files, changes & discussions,” but it does not appear that you can restrict public access, although I could be wrong.

Does something like this already exist, and if not, what are the plans for it?

Hi and welcome! First, thanks for your interest.

We do have plans to add paid (for large repos) and free private repositories. However, at the moment, Pijul is still in alpha, and the Nest isn’t stable enough to make it something more than an experiment. It is getting better and more stable every day, so we will probably start offering something like this in a few weeks.

Hi @pmeunier, any update on this?

Yes and no:

  • Yes: Pijul is still in alpha, but I’m hoping to finish implementing all the features I want by the end of 2021.
  • No: Private/paid repos need extra funding to offer professional services, and I don’t want to do that until the Nest is effectively viable commercially. I’m working on related business ideas to try and do that ASAP.
