As a nest issue (is there a place to file those?) note that I pushed this as robx@nest.pijul.com
but claimed name = 'rob'
, which nest seems to have accepted.
(I’m a bit confused about the meaning of the name
field outside nest. It seems such change metadata needs to live in some kind of “global” namespace, i.e., username@nest.pijul.com
makes more sense to me than recording just username
.)
Thanks! And congrats for pushing a change!

Yay :)
It’s intended to be a short version of your name (an online pseudo). Since we don’t yet have change signatures (we used to have them in the previous versions, but this needs more work to be easy and useful), the Nest indeed uses the short name to associate your changes to your user account.
Just a minor UX thing, and my next attempt at actually pushing a change 🤞.
Planning to add a minimal change to just mention both, though I imagine parametrizing the message might be better.
