Would it be better to ignore both .direnv and .envrc entirely, i.e. ensure they aren’t recorded so people can do whatever they want in that regard.
On that note, is there a global .ignore? e.g. in git you can add ~/.gitignore or ~/.config/git/ignore.
I’ve added a change in case you would prefer to ignore .envrc.
