Example scenario:

• position a cursor on a note A that's part of some non-singleton column that isn't unrolled by 'next'
• add next
• type in some text into the new note (now on its own column)
• wait a few seconds for auto-save to kick in
• [don't disable edit]
• unroll next

Before this commit, the original note A never gets its next link persisted to disk.
